Das Künstlerpaar Nabiha & Thom lebt und arbeitet seit 1997 gemeinsam in Deutschland und im Ausland. Im Oktober 2015 haben die beiden ihr neues Atelier in Leipzig bezogen.
Neben vielen Ausstellungen in Deutschland wurden Nabiha & Thoms Arbeiten
bereits in Großbritannien, Frankreich, Italien, Österreich, Syrien, Russland,
Lettland, Spanien, Kambodscha, Griechenland und den USA gezeigt.
The artist couple Nabiha & Thom have been living and working together in Germany and abroad since 1997. In October 2015, the two moved into their new studio in Leipzig.
Besides many exhibitions in Germany, Nabiha & Thom´s works
were shown in the UK, France, Italy, Austria, Syria, Russia, Latvia, Spain, Cambodia, Greece and the USA.
Nabiha und Thoms ‘unity art’ ist ein einzigartiges Projekt.
Seit über 17 Jahren fotografiert sich das Paar in seiner Beziehung gegenseitig und miteinander,
so dass man sie auch als Adam & Eva des ‘selfie’ bezeichnen könnte. Die Darstellung dieser Liebe
ist so faszinierend, dass darüber hinaus oft die andere Seite ihrer Arbeit übersehen wird.
Während UNITY die äußere Realität dieses Paares verbildlicht, widmet sich METAMORPHOSEN der inneren Realität.
Wie können zwei Menschen verschmelzen? Wie können Ich / Du, Subjekt / Objekt aufgehoben werden?
Nabiha und Thom beantworten diese Frage universell, in dem sie mit dem Universum und dem gesamten Leben eins werden.
In METAMORPHOSEN finden sich Mythen und Archetypen wieder, die uns mit dem kollektiven Unbewussten vereinigen
und so unsere Seele nicht nur mit einer anderen sondern mit allen anderen zusammenführen.
Wie bei Wassertropfen und Meer ist es nicht mehr möglich, zu definieren wo das eine anfängt und das andere aufhört.
Unsere Ahnen leiteten deshalb aus der Bezeichnung für Meer, ihr Wort für die menschliche Seele / Soul ab.
Nabiha und Thom weiten diese Seele wieder aus und führen sie zu ihrem Ursprung zurück. UNITY eben.

Nabiha and Thoms Unity Art is a unique project.
For over 17 years the couple photographs themselves, and each other so that one could call them the Adam & Eve of the “selfie”.
The portrayal of this love is so fascinating that one often tends to overlook other aspects of their work.
While UNITY illustrates the external reality of this couple, the METAMORPHOSES are dedicated to their internal reality.
How can two people merge/fuse/melt together/unify?
How can (the) I/you, subject/object barrier be lifted?
Nabiha and Thom answer these questions universally by becoming one with the universe and all of life itself.
The Myths and archetypes found in METAMORPHOSES unify us with the collective unconscious
and thereby not only bring together/reunite our souls with each other, but with all others.
Like with drops of water and the sea it is not possible anymore to define where one ends and the other begins.
Because of this our ancestors derived from “sea” their word for the human soul.
Nabiha and Thom expand this soul and lead it back to its origin: UNITY.

Unity is the basis of our work.
Knowing that you are part of a greater whole is prerequisite to understanding your own position in this incarnation.
Our collective works spring from this consciousness.
Life can be seen as a succession of images in the brain, in which visions and constructed pictures are as significant as the pictures we see with our eyes.
Each person has their own perception of reality, their own worlds of images.
Unity Art shows ours.
Each of us went through and learned the essential prerequisites that led to Unity Art before we met. When we met, we realized that we had arrived, independently, at the same insights and views, though we had grown up in different worlds and have opposite personality traits. Although our paths came from different directions, we had arrived at the same elemental thoughts.
By accepting our opposites, we gain the necessary balance to realize our dreams with twice the energy.
We are like two halves that together form a whole and continue to evolve simultaneously and constantly. Each on their own and both of us together, over and over again, new each time.
Constant change is the only constant and challenge in life.
Our works don’t just show our view of the world and reflections on our own existence. Indeed, each picture is an expression of our deep motivation and zest for life – which we joyfully pass along to others.
Since 1997, we have been compiling a life-long double self-documentary that is, at the same time, a true love story: UNITY.
We tell of that certain something that so many people yearn for. At the same time, a pretty warped picture of it is lodged in so many heads – a dilemma of our time. Great longing and the wish for perfect fulfillment on the one hand – and fear and loneliness on the other.
We know the longing – and its fulfillment.
Our works seek to remind people that it is possible to turn your dreams into reality.
Our pictures are a mirror of our life. Just as each moment in life evolves from the one before it, each (UNITY) picture leads to the next one.

Unity ist Grundlage unserer Arbeit.
Das Wissen, selbst Teil des grossen Ganzen zu sein, ist die Voraussetzung für das Verständnis der eigenen Position innerhalb dieser Existenz.
Aus diesem Bewusstsein entstehen unsere gemeinsamen Arbeiten.
Man kann das Leben als eine Abfolge von Bildern im Gehirn betrachten, in der Traumbilder und konstruierte Bilder den gleichen Stellenwert haben, wie die Bilder, die wir mit den Augen wahrnehmen.
Jeder Mensch hat seine eigene Wahrnehmung der Realität und damit seine eigenen Bild-Welten.
Unity Art zeigt unsere.
Die Grundvorraussetzungen die zu Unity Art geführt haben, durchlebten und lernten wir beide bevor wir uns trafen. Als wir uns begegneten, stellten wir fest, dass wir unabhängig voneinander zu den gleichen Erkenntnissen und Ansichten gekommen waren, obwohl wir in unterschiedlichen Welten aufwuchsen und gegensätzliche Charakterzüge aufwiesen. Obwohl unsere Wege aus verschiedenen Richtungen kamen, stimmten wir in elementaren Gedanken überein.
Indem wir unsere Gegensätze annehmen, gewinnen wir das notwendige Gleichgewicht um unsere Träume mit doppelter Kraft zu verwirklichen.
Wir sind wie zwei Hälften, die zusammen eins ergeben und sich gleichzeitig und ständig weiterentwickeln. Jeder für sich und beide gemeinsam, immer wieder neu.
Ständige Veränderung ist die einzige Konstante und Herausforderung im Leben.
In unseren Arbeiten zeigen wir nicht nur unsere Sicht auf die Welt und Reflektionen über unsere eigene Existenz. Jedes Bild ist vielmehr Ausdruck unserer tiefen Lebensmotivation und -freude. Diese möchten wir weitergeben.
Seit 1997 erstellen wir eine lebenslängliche Doppel-Selbstdokumentation die gleichzeitig eine echte Liebesgeschichte ist: UNITY.
Wir erzählen von dem etwas, wonach sich so viele Menschen sehnen. Gleichzeitig existiert davon in vielen Köpfen ein ziemlich verzerrtes Bild. Ein Dilemma unserer Zeit. Grosse Sehnsucht und der Wunsch nach perfekter Erfüllung auf der einen Seite – und Angst und Einsamkeit auf der anderen.
Wir kennen die Sehnsucht – und ihre Erfüllung.Durch unsere Arbeiten möchten wir daran erinnern, dass es möglich ist, seine Träume zu verwirklichen.
Unsere Bilder sind ein Spiegel unseres Lebens. So wie sich aus jedem Moment im Leben der nächste entwickelt, führt jedes (UNITY-) Bild zum nächsten.
